Four juniors braved horrendous conditions this Sunday (13/10/19) to play in the latest stableford competition with Alex Brodrick coming out on top.
Sam Blow played one of our juniors, Joe Soutar in the final of the challenge cup in very wet conditions. The match was very tight with Sam shooting a one over gross score but losing to two gross birdies (nett eagles) on holes 18 and 19, well played to both. Joe played some outstanding golf in tricky conditions to take advantage of the shots he had against Sam.
We hope to see more juniors joining our ranks over the upcoming months, hopefully going on to represent the club in future tournaments.
The Junior club championships were held on the 14th July with 5 juniors taking part, the trophy has now been sponsored by the Lowin family and the first gross winner of the new trophy was Nathan Hole. The nett winner was Will Day, with all of the golfers returning good scores on the day. The golf was played in a good spirit on a well maintained course. Well done to all of the participants.
In 2019 the junior section is again a strong part of the club with a good group of boys and girls taking part, not only in Junior events
but also doing very well in main club competitions, as well as representing the Club in A team & B team matches. This years Junior Captain
Alex Brodrick is focused on the Junior Section becoming part of the Lincolnshire Junior League in 2019 as well as holding Junior inter club competitions.
